Coming from Shannon Airport
Shannon Airport is the most convenient major airport. Allow roughly 40–50 minutes by car, depending on traffic. The simplest option is a rental car, particularly if you will be at Clonshire for several days; the centre is rural and having a car makes getting between your accommodation, Clonshire and Adare much easier.
If arriving without a car, travelling to Limerick/Adare and then using a taxi for the final portion is practical. For a multi-day course, however, consider staying near Clonshire or in Adare and having a car.
Where to stay
Closest and most practical — Castleview House
This is in Clonshire itself, approximately 1 km from the equestrian centre; roughly an 8-minute walk. It is a traditional country B&B rather than a hotel.
Best combination of comfort and Adare village — Dunraven Arms Hotel
This four-star hotel is right on Main Street in Adare, roughly 3.6 km from Clonshire. It has a pool, sauna and gym, and you can walk to the restaurants, pubs and shops in Adare.
Good B&B alternative — Coatesland House
A highly rated traditional B&B on the Killarney Road close to Adare, about 2.6 km from Clonshire.
Village B&B — Adare Country House
Around 3 km from Clonshire, this is another good option if you want to be able to walk into Adare for dinner rather than staying in the countryside.
Clonshire itself also has on-site accommodation. It is a self-catering unit sleeping 6–8 people, with a full kitchen, laundry, heating and several bedrooms. Contact the centre direct for information
